Bitcoin Rebounds Above $76,000 as Crypto Markets Rally After Fed Rate Hike

Bitcoin climbed back above $76,000 on Thursday as cryptocurrency markets rallied following the Federal Reserve’s latest interest rate decision.

The world’s largest cryptocurrency traded around $76,621, gaining roughly 0.9% over 24 hours, while several major altcoins also moved higher as traders focused on the Federal Reserve’s outlook for future interest rates.

Bitcoin Rebounds After Fed Rate Hike

The Federal Reserve raised its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points, bringing the federal funds target range to 3.75%โ€“4.00%.

Despite the rate increase, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies moved higher as investors digested the central bank’s updated economic projections and assessed how much additional monetary tightening could come next.

    Altcoins Join the Crypto Rally

The recovery was not limited to Bitcoin. Ether gained around 1.1%, while Solana advanced approximately 2% as broader sentiment across the cryptocurrency market improved.

Zcash was one of the strongest performers, jumping about 23% and reaching a record high as interest in the privacy-focused cryptocurrency increased.

Why Did Bitcoin Rise Despite Higher Rates?

Higher interest rates can create pressure on risk assets because they increase the returns available from interest-bearing investments. However, markets often react not only to the rate decision itself but also to expectations about what the Federal Reserve may do next.

Following the September meeting, traders focused on the possibility that the remaining path of monetary tightening could be limited. That helped support risk sentiment across cryptocurrencies and U.S. equities.

    Bitcoin Still Faces Important Risks

The rebound does not eliminate the risks facing the cryptocurrency market. Bitcoin remains sensitive to interest-rate expectations, inflation data, liquidity conditions and changes in investor appetite for risk.

Previous monetary-tightening cycles have also produced sharp short-term rallies followed by renewed volatility, meaning traders may remain cautious even as prices recover.

What Crypto Investors Should Watch Next

    • Bitcoin’s ability to remain above the $76,000 level.
    • Future signals from Federal Reserve officials.
    • Upcoming U.S. inflation and employment data.
    • Performance of Ether, Solana and other major cryptocurrencies.
    • Changes in risk sentiment across stocks and crypto markets.

Bitcoin’s rebound shows that crypto traders are looking beyond the Federal Reserve’s immediate rate increase and toward the future path of monetary policy. The next major U.S. economic reports could therefore play an important role in determining whether the recovery continues or volatility returns.
